We launched 3 new book pages on Shepherd.com
We launched 3 new book pages + explore points! 🥳🎉
25,000+ individual book pages where you can explore a book and why to read it.
Beloved by Toni Morrison
How To Think Like A Roman Empire by Donald Robertson
Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl
25,000+ "books like" pages where you can find new books based on a book you know and love.
Books like Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain
Books like Infomocracy by Malka Older
Books like The Last Wilderness by Neil Ansell
Plus, we shipped a simple page that shows what book lists a book is on, like this one for Testament of Youth.
We also added book explore points across Shepherd so you can easily dive into that book!
Click on "Explore this book" for a book description and links to why that book is recommended, similar books, lists with that book, related topics, and soon genres.
We still need to fix some bugs and add missing book descriptions for about 40% of the books. We will do that this week.
Fewer display ads.
There are fewer ads on mobile and desktop now. And I changed their positions.
I don't like display ads. I want to eventually remove them from the website and replace them with on-topic book ads from our community of authors.
What's next?
First, we need to automate more of the book creation process on our backend systems. Then, we will start the massive project of adding genre and age data to the website.
Fun day! Here is a visual timeline of Shepherd's journey over the last 18 months.
Thanks for your support,
Ben
